When Deneys Bester and his family swapped the dusty roads of Zeerust in the North West for the sea breeze of Hermanus five years ago, they were looking for more than just a change of scenery; they were looking for a fresh start. “At first, I was quite nervous,” Deneys admits, “but my wife’s adventurous spirit kept us going. Having lived and studied in the Western Cape, she was confident we could make it work. Our biggest motivation was our daughter’s future, and really, what better place to raise a child than Hermanus, a true piece of heaven on earth!”

That leap of faith soon turned into a thriving local business. A friend introduced Deneys to the previous owner of Eastcliff Car Wash, knowing he had run two successful car wash businesses back home. “The rest, as they say, is history,” he smiles. “With my energetic personality, passion for people and cars, and a hands-on approach, we’ve turned Eastcliff Car Wash into the go-to spot in Hermanus for quality service and a friendly atmosphere.”

What makes Eastcliff Car Wash truly stand out is its meticulous attention to detail. Deneys and his team treat every car as if it were their own. “Our valet services go way beyond the usual inside-and-out wash,” he explains. “We completely remove seats and strip the vehicle to give it a full-day ‘spa treatment.’ At first, customers were nervous; it’s not something they were used to, but once they saw the results, they were amazed.”
